INDUSTRY DIGITALIZATION

As a public non-profit organisation and a nationally certified BSO, STYRIAN TECHNOLOGY PARK supports SMEs by promoting innovation and competitiveness through their digital upgrade and the use of information and communication technology (ICT).

STP's activities are strongly correlated with the national Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3). Our services for the digital transformation of SMEs include:

  • Business Support and Incubation, including business idea development and assessment, competition analysis, coaching and mentoring, promotional activities;
  • A wide network of digitally involved partners, including:
    • The Strategic Research and Innovation Partnerships (SRIP) aimed at increasing high technology products and services in Slovenia;
    • The 2nd largest University in Slovenia (University of Maribor) within STP' Quadruple Helix instituional support for innovation and more advanced technologies.
  • Research, development and analysis of appropriate and most suitable advanced ICT technologies according to the internal needs of the SMEs in order to improve framework conditions for a smarter use of ICT for both products and services.
  • Advanced technology transfer and knowledge sharing on the latest digital developments, including Industry 4.0 and 3D Printing Technology via E3D+ digital platform (international project co-funded by the EU);
  • Business and digitalization oriented workshops and trainings;
  • Digital presence establishment, including web site strategic analysis and customization.

Since 2017, STP is an official member of the Digital Innovation Hub, established by the European Commission within the Smart Specialisation Platform.

Policy Initiatives & Networks

Smart City MARIBOR

Smart City Maribor Initiative and its Network were launched in order to activate a sustainable smart city environment, pursuing innovation in the city of Maribor and pilot projects enabling the start provision of smart city activities (services, technology development and product development). The Initiative aims at achieving breakthrough projects which may enhance the territory of the Maribor city and wider on a regional scale, encouraging technological, social and organizational innovation.

National network of creative FABLABs

FabLab Network is a platform for learning, intergenerational integration, creativity and support to creative makers, startups and companies. The national reference FabLab Network Slovenia is a technologically supported environment for innovation, prototyping and invention, but is also aimed at encouraging circular economy and local entrepreneurship.

SIRP - Networks for the transition into circular economy

Under the coordination of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Štajerska, the SRIP networks for the transition into circular economy aim at connecting different stakeholders, business subjects, educational and research institutions. At the same time they contribute to the increased share of high technology products and services with a high degree of knowledge on global markets. Finally, it contributes to higher entrepreneurial activity and added value per employee

SIRP - Networks for smart buildings and homes, including wood chain

Under the coordination of TECES, a technology centre established by Slovenian electric companies, the SRIP Networks for smart buildings and homes aim at connecting different stakeholders, business subjects, educational and research institutions. At the same time they contribute to the increased share of high technology products and services, such as smart devices, systems and management, intelligence with ICT elements. The goal is to create a more advanced living environment, representing at the same time a great potential for creating new business chains and developing ideas.

​Young Innovators Network for Sustainable Ideas in the Agro-Food Sector (SEE recent closed project; several of innovators transnational collaboration and pilot projects were oriented to manufacturing SMEs innovations with close support of ICT, within agro-food sector.
